Proto.io allows you to import your prototyping screens from InVision, along with any simple interactions and transitions you have already applied. Please note that the process only applies to InVision V7 prototypes – older versions or files might not be supported.
You don't need to download any plugin to achieve this – simply follow the instructions below.
Export from InVision
InVision allows you to export your entire prototype or selected screens of your project.
To download the entire prototype, simply go to the top bar and select Export prototype > Export as offline prototype.
If you want to export only specific screens, then select them manually and click on the Export icon at the bottom of the screen. Again, select 'Export as offline prototype'.
In either scenario, you will download a zip file containing your InVision prototype to your computer. This file is all you'll need to import your work into Proto.io.
Import to Proto.io
Start a new blank project in Proto.io, making sure that the device you pick is the same as the one you had designed for in InVision before (e.g. tablet, iPhone, Desktop, etc.).
Then simply find the zip file in your downloads and drag and drop it on your canvas in the Proto.io Editor or on the Project Assets side panel. Please note that any images included in your prototype might take a few seconds to load the first time.
You'll see that any interactions you have already created inside InVision are maintained in Proto.io and are marked by hotspots on each prototyping screen.
Continue editing in InVision and keep Proto.io in sync
In case you apply changes to existing InVision screens or add any new screens to your InVision project, choose only those screens and perform a partial export as shown above. Then drag the new zip file into Proto.io and choose "Update all" when the pop-up appears on your screen.
